Arshad Warsi calls Prabhas a 'brilliant actor'

A few weeks ago, actor Arshad Warsi shared his candid thoughts on Nag Ashwin's directorial Kalki 2898 AD.

He expressed disappointment with how Prabhas's character was portrayed in the film, even stating that the actor looked like a "joker." This comment sparked significant backlash from Prabhas's fans, who defended the actor vehemently.

Now, Arshad Warsi has clarified that his remarks were directed at the character, not the actor.

Speaking at the IIFA Awards 2024 green carpet, Arshad praised Prabhas, calling him a "brilliant actor" and addressing the misunderstanding, noting that people often misinterpret his words. Readmore!

"Everyone has their own perspective, and people like to create noise. I was talking about the character, not the person. Prabhas is a fantastic actor and has proven himself time and again. But when a bad character is given to a good actor, it's heartbreaking for the audience," Arshad told PTI.

During the event, Arshad also expressed his happiness about the unification of various language industries in Indian cinema.

"The blurring of language barriers should have happened a long time ago. I get frustrated when people use terms like Bollywood or Tollywood. I’ve corrected many by saying, ‘This is the Indian film industry.’ We are all in this together. My competition is with the world, not with each other. When I direct a film one day, I want to cast actors from all industries. Language shouldn’t matter," he added.
