AP Hikes Senior Resident Doctors' Remuneration

The State government had decided to increase the remuneration paid to the senior resident doctors across the state. 

The resident doctors (PG students) are paid Rs 45,000 remuneration a month as of now.

However, with the government engaging most of them in the Covid 19 pandemic mitigation.

The government had recruited over 17,000 doctors and other medical professionals at the 104 toll free call centre to assist people calling the toll free number in distress. Readmore!

With the stress and work increasing on these medical professionals, the state government had decided to increase the remuneration from the present Rs 45,000 a month to Rs 75,000.    

This was announced by Health principal secretary Anil Kumar Singhal on Wednesday. 

Singhal said that the government had engaged the services of over 300 resident doctors in Covid mitigation.

He further said that there are 800 doctors who have just completed their post-graduation and assisting the government.

The government is also actively looking into the demands of these doctors and the junior doctors. 

The Principal Secretary said that the government, despite the financial crisis is ready to consider the demands from the doctors as fighting the pandemic was more important.
