After rap from HC, Telangana on high alert

Following a serious reprimand from the state high court on lesser number of tests for corona virus in Telangana, the state government seems to have gone on a high alert.

Apparently realising that it there is every possibility of the high court giving directions for conducting more tests on every Covid-19 suspect and also asymptomatic patients, the TRS government is apprehensive that more number of tests might result in steep rise in the number of cases in the state.

On Saturday, health minister Eatala Rajender asked the state health department to remain alert and be prepared to meet any kind of exigencies in case of a spike in coronavirus cases in Telangana.

He also asked the public health care workers to go on toes and quickly adopt to ‘live and work under the constant threat of coronavirus.’ They may have to deal with corona virus patients as well as those with other ailments who should not be neglected. Readmore!

The minister said the third phase of lockdown has brought a lot of exemptions due to which more people are able to venture out of their houses.

Persons from foreign countries and migrants from other States are expected to reach Telangana. This might result in more number of cases in the state, he cautioned.

Instructions have been issued to all the DM&HOs to ensure that every one with symptoms of coronavirus are tested during active surveillance. He urged public health care workers from all cadres in Telangana to avoid taking leaves and discharge their duties with discipline.
