But the director who takes away the crown of 'The Director of The Year' is Gowtham Tinnanuri. His Jersey is not only the best movie of the year but also one of the best films in the last decade.

He has made an authentic sports film that is high on emotions and also has the best story and well executed drama. No wonder Jersey is now being remade in multiple languages.

It's splendid work from a young director who has just made one film before this. Gowtham is all set to direct the Hindi remake of Jersey with Shahid Kapoor.
