YSR Congress party spokesperson P Shiva Shankar on Thursday demanded that cases of rape and attempted murder be filed against Satyavedu TDP MLA, Koneti Adimulam, following allegations made by a woman from his own party.
The woman accused Adimulam of raping her and attempting to murder her, sparking outrage.
Condemning the MLA’s actions, Shiva Shankar called them shameful and stating that merely suspending him is not enough.
“The victim, fearing for her safety, had to approach the media in a neighboring state rather than in Andhra Pradesh. It shows the state of governance under the TDP government,” he said.
The YSRCP leader demanded that the government immediately file rape and attempted murder charges against the MLA.
Additionally, he demanded that chief minister Chandrababu Naidu, deputy CM Pawan Kalyan and home minister V Anitha to respond to the grave allegations against the MLA.
