YSRC Unmoved With Mahesh Kathi Accident!

It is a known fact that popular actor and film critic Mahesh Kathi, who met with a major accident at Kodavalur on the outskirts of Nellore district a couple of days ago, is not only a bitter critic of Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan but also an ardent fan of YSR Congress party.

Though he is not an active party member, Mahesh, a known Dalit activist, openly displayed his affinity towards the YSRC president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy. In various television debates, he praised the programmes of Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Before 2019 elections, Mahesh participated in various YSRC programmes, including the dharna at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi demanding special category status to Andhra Pradesh.

In the recent by-elections to Tirupati parliamentary seat, too, he campaigned for YSRC candidate Dr Gurumoorthy. Readmore!

Yet, when Mahesh met with such a gruesome accident, not even a single soul from YSRC called on him in the Medicover Hospital in Nellore where he had been admitted initially and later shifted to Chennai, where he has been in a state of semi-comatose state.

What is worse, there is not a single statement from any of the YSRC leaders expressing shock over the accident, let alone extending him financial help.

Even Dalit leaders like Nandigam Suresh have not bothered to issue a statement on Mahesh, who is also championing the cause of Dalits.

“It appears there is no leader with a human touch in the YSRC to come to the help of a popular personality who supported the party. Though there are several advisors to the chief minister, none of them has the interest to convey the message to him, so that he would have responded immediately,” a party source said.

Because of his aggressive approach, Mahesh doesn’t have many friends in the Telugu film industry. He also did not earn much from the industry, though he has been associated with it in various ways.

Meanwhile, latest information from the hospital is that Mahesh is out of danger and there is no threat to his life.

He would undergo a craniofacial reconstruction operation, which will further allow a surgery for an eye, his friends said.
