Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has become a hot favourite for YSR Congress party leaders in Andhra Pradesh ever since he announced that he would give a “return gift” to Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu in the forthcoming assembly elections in AP.
So far, there has not been a word from KCR that he would support YSR Congress party or campaign for it.
Similarly, there was no statement from YSRC president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy that he would take the support of TRS in the coming elections, though both the leaders are displaying friendly gestures.
But some YSRC leaders have already been pampering KCR. When the TRS president came to Visakapatnam, the local YSRC leaders put up hoardings and banners welcoming him.
In Kurnool district, too, there were posters of YSR Congress party displaying the pictures of Jagan along with KCR.
In some parts of East Godavari district, YSRC leaders also took up milk bath for KCR portraits.
After the recent outburst of KCR against Naidu, exposing the latter’s alleged corruption inefficient administration and fake publicity, he has become much dearer to the YSRC leaders.
In Chittoor district, the YSRC leaders have been distributing wall clocks to voters. In Madanapalle, for instance, the party leaders distributed wall clocks to people in big numbers. Each clock has the pictures of Jagan, local MP Mithun Reddy and MLA Tippa Reddy.
And beneath the stickers having pictures of these leaders, there is also a photograph of the TRS president and his car symbol.
Such is the gratitude they have towards KCR but one wonders whether the voters would appreciate the pictures of KCR in their houses.
