Till the other day, Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was claiming to be the most visionary chief minister in the country and he had gone to the extent of bringing a qualitative change in the governance in the entire country.
But after watching the landslide victory of YSR Congress party headed by Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy in the recent assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh and his rising popularity across the country, KCR is going head over heels before Jagan.
Moreover, Jagan is getting closer to the Bharatiya Janata Party at the Centre while KCR had rubbed the BJP bosses on the wrong shoulders.
Now, with BJP trying to establish itself as a potential force in Telangana, KCR is making every attempt to appease the Centre by pampering Jagan.
The way he extended massive welcome to Jagan at Pragati Bhavan after the latter’s victory in the elections and his visit to Vijayawada to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Jagan clearly showed KCR’s plans to keep Jagan in good humour.
On Wednesday, KCR took yet another decision to pamper the YSRC chief.
KCR has decided to invite Jagan to the inauguration of Kaleshwaram lift irrigation project on Godavari river on June 21.
“The chief minister will personally go to Vijayawada to invite the Andhra Pradesh chief minister for the inauguration of Kaleshwaram project,” an official statement said.
One wonders in what way Jagan is concerned with Kaleshwaram. In fact, the AP government is opposing the location of the project on the grounds that it would prevent flow of Godavari water to the downstream affecting the interests of Andhra Pradesh.
It remains to be seen how Jagan will respond to the same!
