Will Sharmila enter Andhra politics?

Is YSR Telangana party president Y S Sharmila, who has failed to make a mark in Telangana politics at least for now, contemplating launching her political party in Andhra Pradesh as well?

Sharmila herself has triggered a speculation to this effect stating that there is no rule that prevents her from launching a political party in Andhra Pradesh.

Answering a query from during an informal chit chat with media persons at her Lotus Pond residence on Monday, Sharmila said any political party could be launched anywhere in the country and there is no rule that it should not be launched in AP.

Though she did not specifically say she would launch a party in AP, the fact that she did not rule such a possibility itself was enough for the media to speculate on her plans, that would completely change the political equations in the state. Readmore!

In fact, Andhra Jyothy has been hinting at the possibility of Sharmila launching the party in Andhra Pradesh for quite some time. Andhra Jyothy managing director Radhakrishna mentioned the same in his weekly column Kothapaluku.

Quoting sources, he said some YSR Congress party MPs, MLAs and a few seniors had invited Sharmila to enter Andhra politics and a couple of senior ministers were in touch with Vijayamma.

According to him, some YSRC leaders had invited Sharmila to unveil the statue of her father late Y S Rajasekhar Reddy in Viskhapatnam, but she has not made up her mind to accept the invitation.

She is learnt to have discussed with her close aides as to what benefit she would get by attending the programme and whether Jagan would prevail upon the YSRC leaders from not meeting her.

If Sharmila really decides to launch the political party in Andhra Pradesh, it would be a big sensation, as it would be the biggest embarrassment to her brother Jagan Mohan Reddy.

If it happens, how Jagan would face the situation and how he would neutralise her plans would be interesting to watch.
