Why is Naidu reopening Special Category Status?

TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu had asked the YSR Congress party to quit Parliament and fight for the Special Category Status.

He threw an open challenge to chief minister Jagan Mohan Reddy to accept the challenge and get his MPs resign. He also promised that the TDP MPs too would quit and join the fight for the SCS.

It was Naidu who closed the SCS demand while accepting the special package announced by the BJP government on September 8, 2016. He said SCS is not Sanjeevani and it would not bring development.

It was while welcoming the SCS, Naidu made a gender-biased comment stating that “will mother-in-law say no if the daughter-in-law gives birth to a male child.”  Readmore!

Naidu as chief minister had even threated the students and youth of sending them to jail if they raise slogans for SCS.

However, he took U Turn and held dharma porata deekshas just before the elections. Unfortunately, people did not take him seriously and he was defeated merciless.

Now, after five years of giving up SCS demand, Naidu is raising it once again, with an eye on wooing the youth and students and winning the next round of elections in 2024.

But, the big question is will people accept his words on SCS and vote for him?
