Why is Naidu objecting to SIT probe?

Telugu Desam Party president and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu always puts up a brave front on the allegations of corruption made against him by the YSR Congress party leaders.

Many times, he challenged YSRC president and chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy to order any probe against him and prove the allegations against him.

“When your father Y S Rajasekhar Reddy was in power, he had ordered several inquiries against me, but could not prove even one. So, I am not afraid of these investigations,” Naidu said in the past.

But when the Jagan government constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) of 10 senior police officials to investigate into various irregularities in the decisions taken by the previous TDP government, the TDP leaders including Naidu are crying foul. Readmore!

“This is nothing but witch-hunting me out of political vendetta and an attempt to divert the people’s attention from the failures of the YSRC government. Just because we are questioning the government, Jagan is trying to trouble us by ordering investigations. If Jagan does it now, the next government will order a similar probe against him,” Naidu said.

The YSRC wants the government to widen the scope of Special Investigation Team (SIT) and include role of Naidu in the irregularities and the hawala transactions.

“The terms of reference should also include the role of Chandrababu Naidu who breached the oath of secrecy and modus operandi of the hawala transactions,” he said.

People who have duped banks defaulting huge amounts, who were considered to be financiers of TDP and now switched sides, have paid huge amounts to TDP leadership which is an angle that also should be probed, he said.
