It has been a week since Telugu Desam Party general secretary Nara Lokesh left for New Delhi in the name of mustering support from the national parties to his father and TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu, who has since been arrested in the Rs 371 crore skill development corporation scandal.
The party leaders have given the impression that Lokesh would be returning to Vijayawada or Rajahmundry within three or four days.
He spent the initial days with giving interviews to various national media channels, staging a silent protest sit-in at Raj Ghat and meeting a few people.
But after that, there has been no information from Lokesh as to what he is doing there.
The YSRCP leaders have also spread the campaign that Lokesh had gone to Delhi only to avoid being arrested by the Crime Investigation Department in a couple of cases in which he was allegedly involved when he was a state minister.
He has been remotely interacting with the party leaders. After chairing the Telugu Desam Parliamentary Party meeting in Delhi, he also remotely addressed the TDP legislature party meeting on Wednesday and asked the MLAs to create nuisance in the assembly on Naidu’s arrest issue.
There was a talk that Lokesh is trying to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union home minister Amit Shah and sought their appointments. But so far, there has been no such information from Delhi sources.
Apparently, Lokesh has been in touch with legal experts in New Delhi and seeking their help to bail out Naidu from the skill development case and also the attempts of the Jagan government to keep him in jail for a long time.
“In case Naidu doesn’t get justice even in the high court, Lokesh is discussing with the legal experts on exploring the option of knocking the doors of Supreme Court immediately,” sources said.
So, the TDP general secretary is going all out to manage the systems at the national level, since all the attempts to manage people at the state level have failed, sources added.
