Why Didn't Naidu Condemn His Car?

Do you know what car Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu owns?

It is an Ambassador car, bought in 1993-94 and according to the assets declared by his son and IT minister Nara Lokesh, the value of this car is Rs 1.52 lakh.

And Lokesh clearly said he was only mentioning the acquired value of the asset (rate at which it was purchased) and not the present market value.

One wonders why Naidu has still kept his Ambassador car with him, as it is nearly 24 year old vehicle.

As per the Road Transport Authority rules, no car should be used or possessed beyond 15 years, but has to be condemned.

In fact, the registration validity of any car is only for 15 years and after that, it cannot be extended. Anybody who drivers the car is liable for prosecution under Motor Vehicles Act.

Yet, Lokesh has projected the car as part of Naidu’s assets. May be he has done it for transparency, but in the process, he has exposed his father violating the MV Act!
