Why did KCR dump Prashant Kishor?

It was an open secret that Bharat Rashtra Samithi has engaged Indian Political Action Committee founder and political strategist Prashant Kishor to work out the strategies for the party for 2023 elections.

In fact, BRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) himself admitted to the reporters in March 2022 that he had engaged Prashant Kishor “to bring in a political change in the country.”

He even declared that PK had been his close friend for 7-8 years and had helped several parties including YSR Congress party and Trinamul Congress.

He even certified that PK doesn’t take any money for his services and works free for the development of the nation. Readmore!

“There is no secret, I have invited him and he is working with us. He has immense experience and has the ability to correctly catch the people's pulse,” KCR said then.

There were reports that it was PK and his team which had extensively worked for the BRS in the Munugode by-elections held in November 2022 and helped the party win the same.

But soon after the Munugode polls, PK disappeared from the scene and so did his team, which shifted the entire base to Vijayawada. Subsequently, nobody heard about PK or his team in Telangana.

Why did KCR dump PK after all?

The answer came from his son K T Rama Rao in an interaction with ABN-Andhra Jyothy channel MD Vemuri Radhakrishna on Monday.

“I shall tell you the truth. We have worked with Prashant Kishor for some time. He is no more with us and left us long ago,” KTR said.

He said the BRS had dropped PK and his team because it did not want the latter to dominate the party and the government.

“Prashant Kishor says he will dictate how the government will have to function, which we did not appreciate,” he said.

“PK wants to teach us how to run the government and what programme we have to introduce. If we run the government according to his directions, what are we for? Why do we need brains to act as per the aspirations of the people?” he asked.
