Why blame officials for your failures, Mr Naidu?

YSR Congress party on Friday accused Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu of shifting blame on administration in a bid to cover up the failure of his governance.

Senior YSRC leader and former minsiter Dharmana Prasada Rao said there was no meaning in blaming the bureaucracy as TDP party cadre in the name of Janmabhoomi Committees had been taking decisions and the officials had no freedom. He reminded that during the first Collectors' Conference, the Chief Minister clearly said that party workers were more important in carrying out the government schemes.

Dharmana said Naidu had promised to build 25 lakh houses but not a single house was built in the last three and a half years and now setting the deadline of building 1.25 lakh houses next month would also come to a naught as there was no proper allocation of funds in the budget nor was the land identified and works commenced. “It is only to deviate the attention of the people the false promise is being made and the number of houses as announced in the coming days would not materialise either,” he said.

Of the Rs 1,400 crore allocated for housing Rs 1,200 crore would be revenue expenditure leaving very little for the actual construction and it is only a jugglery of figures that Chandrababu Naidu has used without any sincerity to the cause.

The boasting of achieving 11.78 per cent growth rate is ridiculous as none of growth indicators are visible in the state and robustness of economy is a far- fetched dream. While the national growth rate is pegged at 5.6 per cent the state boasting double the rate is ridiculous, Dharmana said.
