Who is Revanth to decide BRS MLA tickets?

Political rivals challenging each other is a common occurrence in today's politics. However, TPCC chief A Revanth Reddy has thrown a peculiar challenge at BRS president and Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao.

Revanth has dared KCR to give tickets to all the 104 BRS sitting MLAs for the upcoming Assembly polls if KCR truly believes that he has transformed the state into a "Bangaru Telangana" during his nine-year regime.

Revanth has also challenged KCR to contest only from the Gajwel Assembly constituency in the upcoming Assembly polls, a constituency that KCR has represented since 2014 for two terms.

Revanth argues that if KCR shifts to another constituency or denies tickets to any of his sitting 104 MLAs, it should be seen as an acknowledgment of KCR's failures in delivering his promises to the people of Telangana in the past nine years. Readmore!

However, questions arise as to who Revanth is to decide the BRS MLA tickets and determine who should be dropped or which Assembly constituency candidates should contest from in a rival party.

These questions are not only being raised in BRS and Congress circles but also highlight that every political party has its own strategy for contesting elections.

The decision to give a ticket to any candidate depends on various factors, such as political, social, financial, caste, and religious considerations.

It appears that Revanth has overlooked this aspect in his desperate attempt to gain media and public attention, diverting attention from his controversial statement on the sufficiency of three-hour free power to farmers in Telangana, stating that there is no need for 24-hour free power as provided by the BRS government at present.
