Who is giving these crazy ideas to TDP?

Telugu Desam Party leaders seem to be running out of ideas to register their protest against the arrest of their party president and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu in the alleged skill development corporation scam.

The other day, the TDP leaders, including Naidu’s family members – his wife Bhuvaneshwari, son Lokesh and daughter-in-law Nara Brahmani – gave a call to the party workers, supporters and common people to register their protest for five minutes by making noise in the name of “Motha Mogiddam.”

They called upon the people to make sounds by beating drums, blowing whistles and trumpets, banging plates, ringing bells and honking horns of vehicles, besides raising slogans on streets to register their protest against Naidu’s arrest.

But the call evoked a very poor response from the people, though the TDP leaders and cadres took part in the programme. Readmore!

While they expected the party supporters to make loud noise, it was a very meek protest. The sound-making attempt gave an impression as if they were celebrating the arrest.

Now, the TDP has come out with yet another such silly programme, called – Kanthi tho Kranthi (revolution through light).

It was also given another name called “Guddi Prabhutvam Kallu Teripiddaam” (Let us make it an eye-opener for the blind government).

The programme, to be conducted for five minutes from 7 pm on Saturday, calls upon the people to switch-off all the lights in their houses and stand in front of their houses with candles, torches and mobile torches to register their protest.

Lokesh said if the people are travelling on roads, they should switch-on and switch-off the headlights of their vehicles to register their protest.

“Not just the people of Andhra Pradesh, every Telugu citizen across the country and world should take part in this programme on Saturday evening,” he said.

One wonders who the person is who is giving such crazy ideas to the TDP people. Already there is a talk that the common people have stopped reacting to Naidu’s imprisonment, which has been extending for days and weeks.

Except a couple of friendly media, the other media houses, too, have stopped giving much coverage to Naidu’s arrest and remand news.

Slowly, the issue is getting fizzled out, as Naidu continues to remain in jail. Even the other political party leaders, barring Pawan Kalyan, have stopped bothering about the issue.

So, such silly programmes by the TDP to highlight the issue of Naidu’s arrest will hardly evoke any response from the people.
