Where is job calendar? Youth question Lokesh on social media

Ever since the Telugu Desam Party-led coalition government came to power in Andhra Pradesh, it has reiterated its commitment to prioritise welfare across all sections and, in particular, to address unemployment by creating large-scale job opportunities.

Ahead of the elections, the government had promised significant employment generation and introduced initiatives such as the ‘Skill Portal’ to enhance employability among students and job seekers.

Recently, state IT minister Nara Lokesh announced that the government aims to provide 20 lakh jobs over five years and assured that a comprehensive job calendar would be released in January.

He made this statement during a programme held at Rajamahendravaram Arts College, raising hopes among unemployed youth across the state. Readmore!

However, with more than 17 days of January having passed and no job calendar announced so far, unemployed youth have begun expressing their frustration, particularly on social media platforms.

Netizens have been targeting Minister Lokesh online, demanding that he honour his promise.

The unemployed youth are intensifying pressure through platforms such as Twitter and Facebook, urging him to follow through on his commitment.

Hashtags like #JobCalendarNow and #LokeshGiveJobs have been trending, amplifying the demand for immediate action.

Many young aspirants have expressed concern that delays in issuing job notifications are pushing their future into uncertainty. They are demanding the immediate release of the job calendar and the prompt filling of vacant posts.

With public pressure mounting, political observers note that if the job calendar is not released within this month, the opposition may further target Minister Lokesh and the government.

Already, YSRCP leaders have been highlighting alleged shortcomings in the government’s functioning and are circulating past statements made by Lokesh, questioning whether the promised job calendar will be delivered or not.
