What's meant by unity of people, Mr KTR?

Bharat Rashtra Samithi president and Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is very well known for his articulation, for which he is called “Matala Marathi” (Man of words). He is good at attracting people with effective talk.

So are his children – son K T Rama Rao and daughter Kalvakuntla Kavitha. They, too, have a wonderful articulation in their speeches. The entire family thinks they can hoodwink any section of people with their speeches.

But what they have forgotten is that they cannot take all sections of people for granted all the time. Now, different sections of people are questioning the hollowness in their talk, which they do according to their own convenience.

On Friday, KTR said in Delhi that the unity of political parties is not that important in the present circumstances. Rather, it is important to unite people on the issues prevailing in the country.  Readmore!

He went on to say that the Congress and the BJP are responsible for the problems our country is facing today.

If political parties unite taking the BJP or the Congress along with them, it will not benefit the country.

His comments evoked strong reactions on social media and digital media. People have raised several questions about his statements.

First of all, about his statement that the unity of political parties is not that important at present.

If what KTR is saying is true, why did his father KCR hop from one state to another to meet leaders of different political parties – like Sharad Pawar, Stalin, Mamata Banerjee, Naveen Patnaik, Kejriwal, Tejaswi Yadav, Nitish Kumar, Akhilesh Yadav and Hemanth Soren, if not for uniting them to fight against the Narendra Modi government?

Now, what does KTR mean by the unity of people? How can people of different states unite, if not through the political parties?

All the leaders who had met at Patna to fight against the BJP, were also elected by the people. So, unity of these leaders naturally amounts to unity of people of their states.

Another point is KTR’s call for a fight against both the BJP and the Congress, which are responsible for the maladies of the country.

All these days, KCR has been saying that his first objective is to pull down the Narendra Modi government which he alleged has done a lot of damage to the nation in the last nine years.

That is what the other opposition leaders are trying now. They did not say that they will bring the Congress to power.

The Congress is only of the many parties for now. So, why should KCR object to the other opposition parties taking the Congress along with it?

Moreover, till recently, the BRS chief has been going soft towards the Congress and even spoke in support of Rahul Gandhi. He strongly opposed disqualification of Rahul from the Lok Sabha membership.

Now that the Congress is emerging as a threat to the BRS in Telangana, KCR is opposing it. His strategy is pretty clear.

If KCR thinks the BRS is the only alternative to the BJP and the Congress, nobody is objecting to it. But KTR’s statement that the BRS will play a national role from Hyderabad itself sounds ridiculous.

How can a party which has a single digit in Parliament think of ruling the nation from Hyderabad?

Well, this is what the people are questioning now. If KCR and his family members think that they can get away by making such statements, they are mistaken!
