What The Critics Say About 'V' Movie

The movie "V" has released on Amazon Prime video. This is the first big budget Telugu film that's released directly on the OTT as the theatres are locked down.

Let us see what the critics across the media say about this film.

"But for some Indian movies, this is entertainment, and V lands into a cesspool of outright silly events. A cop is transformed into a hero. Well, okay. But to make a hero out of the villain appears ridiculous", writes critic Gautham Bhaskaran of News18.

"The problem with V is that it is neither a solid police procedural nor a full-fledged action film.  Though the police are supposedly investigating a serial killer, there is barely any discussion on profiling or even forensics. The clues are embarrassingly old world, bits of paper with convoluted riddles", mentions Sowmya Rajendran of ThenewsMinute.  Readmore!

"V is a major misfire from Indraganti, whose intent to go big fails gloriously. For Nani, who had bet a lot on this film, it will go down as a big disappointment", expressed Haricharan Pudipeddi of The Hindustan Times.

Neeshita Nyayapathi of the Times of India wrote, "This is not an unwatchable film by any measure, because it definitely has its moments that will make you want to know what comes next (even if just to see if you were right). It’s just a shame that it doesn’t end up to be as exceptional as it promises to be".

Roktim Rajpal of Deccan Herald points out, "The simple storyline, however, makes a good impact due to the solid execution....Similarly, a major twist towards the end is along expected lines".

So, on a  whole, this film is received in a way that it is not in sync with the expectations. It is indeed difficult to hold the interest of the audience on OTT with something that is made for theatre.
