What seats Jana Sena proposed to TDP?

The seat-sharing talks between the Telugu Desam Party headed by former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Jana Sena Party led by power star Pawan Kalyan for the upcoming assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh have more or less reached the final stages, party leaders say.

Naidu, who went to the residence of Pawan Kalyan a couple of days ago, firmed up the alliance and the seats to be contested by both the parties. The lists are being fine tuned and are likely to be announced shortly, sources said.

According to the reports doing rounds in a section of mainstream and social media circles, Pawan Kalyan submitted a list of 26 seats from where his party is keen on contesting and has fair chances of winning many of them.

The seats where Jana Sena is interested in contesting are: Bheemili, Gajuwaka, Yelamanchili/Pendurthi, Paderu, Rajanagaram, Rajahmundry (Rural), Kakinada (Rural), Pithapuram, P Gannavaram, Razole, Narasapuram, Bhimavaram, Tadepallligudem, Ungutur/Eluru/Nidadavole/Tanuku, Kovvur, Avanigadda, Pedana, Kaikaluru, Tenali, Guntur (West), Giddaluru, Darsi, Nellore, Tirupati, Madanapalle and Rajampet. “There could be some changes in the list as per the suggestions and further negotiations with the TDP,” sources said.

Apparently, the TDP has suggested that Jana Sena Party not contest the adjacent constituencies in any district – like Bhimavaram and Narasapuram; or Gajuwaka and Visakhapatnam (South), Rajahmundry (rural) and Kovvur etc.

Secondly, the TDP is not keen on giving any of the reserved seats to Jana Sena Party, as the party has bleak chances of winning them.

It remains to be seen how many of them would be allotted to Jana Sena in the coming days.
