For the last few days, YSR Congress party leaders, particularly chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy’s cousin and Kadapa MP Y S Avinash Reddy, have been trying to throw the blame on Narreddy Sunitha Reddy and her husband Rajasekhar Reddy for the murder of her father and ex-MP Y S Vivekanda Reddy.
But surprisingly, Jagan’s own sister and YSR Telangana party president Y S Sharmila strongly refuted these allegations and defended Sunitha and her husband, saying they had absolutely no role in the murder of Viveka.
Reacting to the allegations of Avinash Reddy and his father Bhaskar Reddy that property disputes within Viveka’s family might have led to the murder, Sharmila said it was atrocious to make such allegations.
“My uncle Viveka had kept all his properties and money in the name of Sunitha since several years. So, there is no meaning or logic in the allegations that she had killed her own father for properties. When the properties are in her name, where is the need for his murder?” she asked.
Sharmila further said if Sunitha’s husband Rajasekhar Reddy was really involved in the murder for properties, he should have killed Sunitha not Viveka, as the properties and money are in her name.
The YSRTP president took an indirect dig at Sakshi media house for carrying false stories against Sunitha and her husband and also maligning the image of Viveka saying that he had extra marital affairs.
“Such a media house has no locus standi to talk about Viveka at all. He was a noble man. How can it write such scandalous stories against a person who is no more and cannot give an explanation? It is nothing but character assassination against a departed leader,” Sharmila criticised.
