Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams trust board chairman Y V Subba Reddy on Saturday came up with an interesting suggestion to prominent people like Governor E S L Narasimhan and other VIPs not to come to Tirumala frequently and cause inconvenience to the regular devotees.
Subba Reddy also announced that the TTD was planning to scrap the VIP break-darshan system under L1, L2 and L3 category.
“We shall work out new guidelines for the visit of VIPs without causing inconvenience to ordinary devotees,” he said.
The TTD chairman asked the VIPs to restrict their visit to Tirumala temple once a year so as to avoid causing inconvenience to ordinary devotees.
He said VIPs would get special darshan but only once a year.
“A formal decision to this effect will be taken by the TTD board which would be constituted in a week or 10 days. We will take the decision on scrapping the L1, L2 and L3 categories at the board meeting,” he said.
Recently, Vice-President of India M Venkaiah Naidu suggested that the VIPs should restrict their visits to the Tirumala temple to once a year.
