Y S Vijayamma, wife of late chief minister Y S Rajasekhar Reddy and mother of Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy wrote an open letter to the people of two Telugu states on Vivekananda Reddy’s murder.
She took strong exception to the media campaign against the Y S family in the murder taking advantage of Vivekananda Reddy’s daughter Dr Suneetha’s recent apprehensions over delay in the inquiry.
Vijayamma alleged that the TDP and its yellow media have been resorting to mudslinging on the YS family in the case.
She further said that the yellow media was twisting the statements of Vivekananda Reddy’s murder only to defame the YS family and give some support to the TDP, which is losing its political relevance.
Vijayamma said that they have no second opinion to find the culprits in the murder and wanted speedy enquiry and trial, besides severe punishment.
However, she said that Vivekananda Reddy’s murder and attack on Jagan Mohan Reddy were happened during Chandrababu Naidu’s regime and suspected that the TDP chief, who was the chief minister till May 2019, had the chances of influencing the cases.
She asked the TDP and yellow media to question the Central government and the CBI, which is probing the cases, for speedy enquiry.
She also sought to advise the TDP and its media to stop indulging in malicious campaign against the YS family for TDP’s political gain and to save its fading image.
