Bharat Kamma, who hails from Kakinada, is making debut as a director with Vijay Deverakonda’s “Dear Comrade”.
A former associate of Sukumar and Chandrasekhar Yeleti, Bharat Kamma first met Vijay Deverakonda soon after the release of “Yevade Subramanyam” and just before the commencement of “Pelli Choopulu”.
“I had narrated the story of Dear Comrade back then with Rs 2 Cr budget in mind. As I have closely observed his growth as a star from Arjun Reddy to Geetha Govindam, we have made necessary changes. The plotline has remained the same but the canvas became bigger,” he revealed.
Even after “Arjun Reddy” becoming a sensation, Vijay Deverakonda, according to the director, insisted on doing the same story.
“I have readied two more scripts that are bigger in scale but he didn’t want to change the script,” Kamma revealed.
The young director also scoffed the reports that Vijay Deverakonda interfered in the movie’s script and output.
“Though the film took many months to be finished, it never went into his hands. I have had total control,” Bharat Kamma said.
