TTA Bonalu and Alai Balai Jathara

The Telangana American Telugu Association, TTA, is the only organization that proudly depicts the traditions of Telangana culture across America with the blessings of its founder Dr. Pailla Malla Reddy.

Advisory Chair Dr. Vijayapal Reddy, Advisory Co-Chair Mohan Reddy Patalolla, Advisory Member Bharath Madadi have decided to organize the first Bonalu and Alai Balai Jathara festivities which are beloved to Telangana people.

TTA Bonalu and Alai Balai events are presided over by President Vamshi Reddy Kancharakuntla. Mahankali Bonalu fair was held with great fanfare across America. TTA Cultural Chair Priyanka Krishna coordinated with various cities at the national level, under the supervision of TTA Executive Vice President Dr. Narasimha Reddy Donthireddy.

New York: Under the esteemed leadership of TTA’s founder, Dr.Pailla Malla Reddy, TTA New York team organized Bonalu and Alai Balai Jathara. The event garnered significant attention and support, not only from the local community but also from the government. There was an enthusiastic participation from prominent local leaders. Their presence added to the success and prestige of the event. Devotees offered their prayers to Goddess Mahankali and this event served as a catalyst for positive change, inspiring further recognition and appreciation for the festival and its cultural significance. Seattle: President Vamshi Reddy's hometown Seattle celebrated Bonalu and Alai Balai Jathara, which was held at Marymoor Park in Redmond, Seattle. The people of Seattle offered Bonam to the Goddess Mahankali amid the sounds with a bang and dance of Pothuraju, Seattle offered prayers to Goddess Mahankali with great devotion. TTA members arranged a nice dinner for the event attendees.

Greater Philadelphia: TTA Executive Vice President, Dr. Narasimha Reddy Donthireddy's hometown, Greater Philadelphia celebrated Bonala Jathara festival at Alfred G. Waters Middle School at Middletown, Delaware. This event was attended by thousands of devotees. The women attended the event with Bonam and Goddess Mahankali was offered prayers and graced the stage accompanied by Potaraju in a grand procession. TTA volunteers hosted a nice dinner for all the participants of the events.

Austin: TTA organized the first event in the city of Austin with Bonala Jathara. This Jathara was organized by Austin TTA volunteers with full glory. The Asian American Resource Center at Austin was attended by huge crowd with the center filled with songs of Bonalu and Pothuraju Poonakam. The women offered Bonam to Goddess Mahankali and prayed for her blessings. TTA Austin team hosted the guests with a sumptuous dinner and cultural programs.

Atlanta: Under the supervision of TTA Advisory Council Member Bharath Reddy Madadi, Mahankali Ammavari Bonala Jathara was organized at Sri Satyanarayana Swamy Temple in Cumming, Atlanta. Goddess Mahankali came in a procession with Pothuraju attended by about thousand devotees dressed up traditionally depicting Telangana culture. Devotees offered Bonam and prayed to the goddess with devotion. Members of the Atlanta TTA Executive Committee organized a grand celebration for everyone who participated in the festivities.

Houston: Under the supervision of Houston Board of Director Durga Prasad, Mahankali Ammavari Bonala Jatra was held sumptuously in the city of Houston, Texas. Bonala Jathara is jointly organized by TTA Houston, and Telangana Association of Greater Houston was held at the Ashtalakshmi Temple in Sugar Land. The city of Houston celebrated with throngs of devotees. Women offered Bonam and worshiped the Goddess with devotion.

Bay Area, CA: Under the supervision of Houston Board of Director Amit Reddy, Mahankali Ammavari Bonala Jathara is organized by TTA team in Bay Area, California. The women attended the event with Bonam and Goddess Mahankali was offered prayers. TTA volunteers hosted a nice lunch for all the participants of the events.

Charlotte: Under the supervision of TTA President Elect Naveen Reddy Mallipeddi, Charlotte is gearing up to celebrate Alai Balai festival on 22nd July at Marvin Efird Park, Charlotte. TTA Charlotte team made arrangements to host sumptuous lunch and cultural programs.

Bonala Jathara organized by TTA across America ended with a bang this Saturday. President Vamshi Reddy thanked everyone who participated in these events.
