Fresh from the tremendous success in the recent assembly elections, Telangana Rashtra Samithi seems to have set a new target for the New Year 2019.
At the outset, it appears the TRS wants to win all the forthcoming elections – gram panchayats, mandal and zilla parishads, municipalities, MLCs and cooperative societies, besides of course achieving the biggest target of winning 16 out of 17 Lok Sabha seats from Telangana.
But the actual target of the TRS is said to be different: it is aiming at capturing power at the Centre with the help of other regional parties which would come together to form a federal front.
And KCR, who is planning to emerge as the winner and not just a king maker, is hoping to become the next Prime Minister of the country, if everything works out as per his plan.
KCR’s daughter and Nizamabad MP Kalvakuntla Kavitha openly disclosed the ambition of the party.
“KCR may even become the prime minister of the country if Federal Front comes to power” Kavitha said but hastened to add that the prime ministerial candidate would be decided after the victory of the federal front in the elections.
She said KCR would definitely succeed in his attempts to form the federal front at the Centre by bringing all the non-BJP and non-Congress parties together.
KCR’s son K T Rama Rao also said in the coming Lok Sabha elections, BJP led NDA governement can't get 150 seats and Congress won't get 100 seats. If TRS wins 16 seats in Lok Sabha, then the TRS would emerge as a decisive force at the Centre.
The second target for the TRS in the New Year is to see KTR as the chief minister of Telangana.
While a section of party leaders say KTR can become CM only if KCR moves to the Centre, others say KTR will ascend the CM throne irrespective of the success of federal front.
