TPAD - Bathukamma Celebrating Womanhood away from home!

Bathukamma has transformed into a way of living more than a festival. Over the years not just people of Telugu origin but the entire world has started embracing the festival of flowers as a lifestyle, although it is during the days of Navaratri that it is celebrated in a more grandeur manner.

TPAD (Telangana Peoples Association of Dallas) a non-profit organization has pioneered and started celebrating this iconic festival with reverence and joy. What started with few hundreds of people has now transformed into more than a 10,000 people event. This is the biggest Bathukamma celebration outside Telangana and has set a record in itself.

People from all walks of life and across the United States come to celebrate this festival. Our culture has taught to respect nature and women, and this is exactly the essence what TPAD touches upon each year since 2014.

The daylong celebration of Bathukamma provides opportunities for kids to show case their talent in music and classical dances.

This year Bathukamma and Dasara celebration goes beyond the unimaginable. With plans to have extended hours of playing Bathukamma to having Telugu movie actress samyuktha Menon as special invitee the event is going to be bang of the year!

Yet the minds and persons behind this entire event is Foundation Committee Chair Raghuveer Bandaru, BOT Chair Sudhakar Kalasani, President Linga Reddy Alva and Coordinator Roja Adepu who stated that they wish to provide a memorable experience for the women playing Bathukamma besides the musical performances in a jam packed area.

TPAD Foundation Committee Chair, Raghuveer Bandaru has been closely monitoring and supervising the preparations for the past 4 months emphasized that they are working very closely with all the committees, the arena folks to ensure there is uninterrupted flow of audience.

TPAD BOT Chair Sudhakar Kalasani said that food will be available for purchase and many vendors have lined up for the big day!

TPAD President Linga Reddy Alva said, the day is going to be filled with activities to engage the entire set of audience and no one will be left with dejection.

Speaking to media, coordinator for the event and TPAD Board of Trustee, Roja Adepu stated all preparations are completed for the celebration on 21st October at Comerica Center. 

She requested the women to come with bathukammas by 3:00 PM CDT and utilize the time to be part of Bathukamma celebrations for extended hours.
