Three berths for sure to YSRC in Modi cabinet?

Decks are almost cleared for the entry of YSRCP into the National Democratic Alliance government at the Centre led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, going by the talk in New Delhi circles.

Lending credence to these speculations, a tweet by popular research organisation VDP Associates tweeted on Monday stating: “BJP has reportedly offered 2 Cabinet and 1 Minister of State Independent charge to YSRCP.Jagan asked to rush to Delhi for exclusive talks with PM Modi.”

As per the original schedule, Jagan is expected to leave for New Delhi on Monday evening and meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday morning, apparently to discuss the issue of YSRC joining the NDA government.

However, there are reports that Jagan might have to defer his Delhi tour, as PM suddenly have got some prior engagements on Tuesday and hence, has asked the chief minister to come on October 6. In any case, the issue of YSRC joining the NDA will be decided by this week-end. Readmore!

The decision of Modi has apparently been taken following the quitting of BJP’s important political allies one after the other. First it was Shiv Sena, which had severed its ties with the BJP after Maharashtra elections.

Recently, its old alliance partner Shiromani Akali Dal parted ways with the BJP and NDA over the passage of controversial three agriculture bills in Parliament. And on Monday, Lok Jana Sakthi led by Ram Vilas Paswan also announced quitting of the NDA.

Though the BJP has an absolute majority in Lok Sabha, it still needs the support of alliance partners in the NDA for the smooth passage of any bill in Rajya Sabha.

So, the BJP is planning to lure new allies, particularly YSR Congress party which has 22 Lok Sabha members and six Rajya Sabha members.

Since Modi has to fill up the vacancies in the cabinet caused due to quitting of its alliance partners, he might offer the same to the YSRC MPs.
