They Are Our Lands, Says Bhuma Family

The Bhuma family from Allagadda in Kurnool on Friday staked claim for the controversial Hafeezpet lands in Hyderabad, dispute over which led to the alleged Tuesday’s kidnap of three people related to Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s family.

Following the arrest of Bhuma Akhila Priya, former Andhra Pradesh minister and Telugu Desam Party leader for her alleged involvement in the kidnap case, her brother Jagath Vikhyat Reddy and sister Mounika Reddy said their family was the rightful owner of 50 acres of land in Hafeezpet.

“The allegations of kidnap and the arrest of Akhila Priya are part of a broader conspiracy of weakening the Bhuma family politically and financially at a time when both our parents are not in the world,” Reddy said at a press conference in Hyderabad.

He wondered why the Andhra police were harassing his family members and followers in Allagadda, when the case was booked in Hyderabad. Readmore!

“We are being implicated in false cases in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana,” he alleged.

Reddy said after his father’s death, some people had colluded with A V Subba Reddy in grabbing the land in Hafeezpet.

“Our piece of land was grabbed and given on lease to My Home group. Several other properties landed in disputes,” he said and appealed to KCR to come to their rescue.

His sister Mounika Reddy said if there were any disputes over the lands, they could be settled through negotiations.

“Why filing a false case against my sister, who was not even in the picture when the kidnap took place? How can the police come to the conclusion that she is the accused? Why did the police make her A-1, within hours of declaring that Subba Reddy was A-1?” she asked.
