Theatres To Reopen In AP From Thursday!

Stage is set for the reopening of cinema theatres in Andhra Pradesh from Thursday, but with only 50 per cent occupancy, due to Covid-19 pandemic prevailing in the state.

The Jagan Mohan Reddy government has taken a decision in this regard at a meeting on Monday.

The government ordered that except in East and West Godavari districts, in rest of the state, curfew would be relaxed for four more hours.

According to the orders, there would be curfew only from 10 pm to 6 am the following day in all parts of the state with effect from July 8. Readmore!

At present, the curfew is being imposed at 6 pm and is in force till 6 am the next day. There would be an hour spare time for the people to return homes after winding up shops.

However, in East and West Godvari districts, where the Covid-19 positivity rate is still more than five per cent. In these two districts, the curfew timings would continue from 6 pm to 6 am.

The government has also decided that theatres, gymnasiums, restaurants and marriage halls will function with only 50 per cent occupancy.

“In all these places, the managements should provide seating only in alternate chairs and ensure that people strictly maintain social distancing and wear mask compulsorily,” the order said.
