T'gana HC imposes Rs 50,000 fine on Bandi Sanjay!

The Telangana high court on Tuesday imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 on former state Bharatiya Janata Party chief and present national general secretary of the party Bandi Sanjay for failing to appear before the court in an election-related case.

The high court was angry with the Karimnagar BJP for repeatedly abstaining for the cross-examination during the trial against Bharat Rashtra Samithi leader and state civil supplies minister Gangula Kamalakar’s election dispute.

The high court ordered Bandi Sanjay to pay Rs 50,000 to the Military Welfare Fund failing to attend the cross-examination. Later, the hearing was adjourned to September 20.

It may be recalled that the BJP leader had approached court alleging that Karimnagar MLA Gangula Kamalakar had not shown his properties in the affidavit and spent huge amount for the electioneering against the stipulated expenditure limits of the Election Commission of India.  Readmore!

In the 2018 Assembly elections, Bandi Sanjay lot in the hands of Kamalakar.

All-India Forward Bloc state vice president Ambati Joji Reddy demanded that the BJP MP should disclose the details about why he was not attending to the Court after filing a case against Gangula Kamalakar.

Alleging that the BJP MP was purposefully avoiding the court on the pretext of staying in Delhi and USA visit, he charged that the BJP MP and Karimnagar MP Gangula Kamalakar are hand in glove and misleading the people of the district.

Flaying the BJP MP for diluting the judiciary system by abstaining to attend for cross-examining over the filing of a case against the BRS legislator, he said that court should take stern action against the BJP MP for misleading the court by filing the affidavit and not attending for examination.
