A school teacher was on Friday suspended from the job for addressing a press conference along with TDP MLC in the party’s state head office at Mangalagiri a couple of days ago.
The teacher, Venkateshwara Rao, working at Tadanki Zilla Parishad School in Krishna district, is going to retire in the next couple of months.
He was present at the press conference addressed by TDP MLC Y Babu Rajendra Prasad at the TDP headquarters on some teachers’ issues.
Naturally, this has angered the YSR Congress party leaders. The raised an objection and complained to the state government, which took serious view of a government employee attending a political press meet at the opposition party office.
It ordered district collector Imtiaz Ahmed to conduct an inquiry and take action against Venkateshwara Rao.
Based on the inquiry report submitted by the collector, the district education officer issued orders suspending the teacher with immediate effect.
The TDP leaders strongly opposed Venkateshwar Rao’s suspension. They reminded that the teacher had given his house for the YSR Congress party office in the past.
“It is unfortunate that the teacher was suspended. We shall stand by him and see that justice was done to him,” TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu said.
