Telangana BJP President Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Monday dubbed the state's ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) as "Burglars Robbers Samithi" and ridiculed Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s visit to Maharashtra.
“After looting Telangana people and pushing the state into debts, Burglars Robbers Samithi (BRS) with its gang leader went to Maharashtra to showcase Telangana state model of development on how to keep every section unhappy - including farmers who don’t get crop insurance, Hyderabad which gets inundated for small rain, women are harassed, daylight murders happen, fuel prices are highest, schools don’t have toilets and unemployed have to bear the brunt of paper leaks,” Sanjay tweeted.
Posting a video of people showering petals on the CM’s convoy enroute to Maharashtra, Sanjay wrote that it is horrible to involve children in these politics to shower petals.
He said he strongly condemns such acts.
In another tweet, Sanjay clarified that the BJP has changed its stand on Dharani portal following representations received from people including farmers.
He was reacting to the criticism of BJP national President J.P. Nadda by political opponents for stating at Nagarkurnool public meeting that after the BJP is voted to power in Telangana, it will scrap Dharani portal as it is being used by the BRS government to grab the lands of farmers.
Nadda’s promise made at Sunday’s public meeting is contrary to Sanjay’s statements that if voted to power, the BJP will continue Dharani portal with certain rectifications.
As BRS and Congress leaders took a dig at the BJP leaders for their contradictory stand, Sanjay clarified that BJP changed its stand after receiving representations from people including farmers.
He admitted that he had stated that after the BJP is voted to power, loopholes in Dharani portal will be removed but after receiving representations from majority of farmers and people, the party leadership decided to scrap the portal.
He said the same was brought to the notice of the central leadership and it agreed with this stand and accordingly Nadda made an announcement at the public meeting.
The Dharani portal was launched by the BRS government a couple of years ago as part of large-scale revenue reforms. The government claims that the portal made land registrations and related transactions transparent and easy for people. However, the opposition Congress and BJP say the portal was being misused by the ruling party leaders to encroach on the lands of farmers. Congress has already promised that if voted to power, it will scrap the portal.
