It has been nearly five years since former minister and present Andhra Pradesh chief minister’s uncle Y S Vivekananda Reddy was brutally murdered at his residence at Pulivendula in Kadapa district.
As the case being probed by Central Bureau of Investigation continues to drag on, Viveka’s daughter Dr Sunitha Narreddy on Friday came out with a sensational statement blaming it on her cousins – Jagan as well as Kadapa MP Y S Avinash Reddy – for the murder.
“I want justice from the people, as there is no sign of getting justice from the courts in the near future. I appeal to the people to defeat Jagan and his party in the coming elections in Andhra Pradesh. Only then would I get justice. If Jagan comes back to power, the case will never make any progress,” Sunitha told reporters at New Delhi.
In the same breath, Sunitha thanked TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu, Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan, former MP Kanumuru Raghu Ramakrishna Raju and her cousin Y S Sharmila who stood by her in her fight for the justice, thereby indirectly telling the people to vote for the TDP-Jana Sena Party combine in the elections.
She said as is shown in films, the real culprits in the murder are very much amidst the people.
“What message do we give to the people when those murderers move scot free in the society? Jagan has resorted to cheating and betrayal. He continues to protect Avinash Reddy and his father Bhaskar Reddy. I want a probe even into Jagan’s role in the case. If he is innocent, he can be exonerated,” she said.
Sunitha recalled that when she had requested Jagan to order a judicial probe into her father’s murder, he had told her that if the CBI probe was ordered, Avinash would join the BJP.
“After the CBI began probe after my petition, the police started harassing me and my husband. The accused even filed cases against the CBI and created hurdles at every stage in its investigation. Everybody has seen how the YSRC party people created terror at Kurnool hospital when the CBI went to arrest Avinash,” she pointed out.
