Suma Kanakala and Rajeev Kanakala’s son, Roshan Kanakala, made his acting debut with Bubblegum. Unfortunately, the film failed to make an impact at the box office or earn critical appreciation.
Suma reportedly invested her own money in launching her son, and while the film did not recover its costs, such investments are often seen as part of supporting a child’s career.
Roshan then received a second opportunity, this time with the backing of leading production house People Media Factory.
Expectations were higher for his sophomore outing, Mowgli, especially since it was directed by Color Photo fame Sandeep Raj. The young actor hoped this collaboration would deliver a much-needed breakthrough.
However, like several directors before him, Sandeep Raj struggled with his second film. Mowgli turned out to be an even bigger disappointment than Bubblegum, failing to impress audiences despite strong production support.
With neither of his first two films producing positive results, Roshan Kanakala now finds himself back at square one. It remains to be seen how he recalibrates his career and what choices he makes moving forward.
