Subba Reddy denies lobbying for Vakeel Saab!

Senior YSR Congress party leader and Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams trust board chairman Y V Subba Reddy has denied reports that he was lobbying with the government for securing permission for screening of additional shows of Pawan Kalyan-starrer Vakeel Saab, scheduled to be released on Friday.

Speaking to Greatandhra.com on Tuesday, Subba Reddy said there was no truth in the reports that he had assured the makers of the film Vakeel Saab to get permission from the government for additional shows in theatres.

The film makers have reportedly approached the Andhra Pradesh government seeking permission to run six shows a day, instead of the present four shows. It means, theatres have to be opened early in the morning and run till late in the night.

Since the final decision has to be taken by none other than chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, the report said the film makers sought the help of Subba Reddy for securing permission from the chief minister. Readmore!

However, the TTD chairman said he had nothing to do with the producers of Vakeel Saab and he would never interfere in the decisions of the government.

“I have not given any such promise to anyone,” he said.

Since Vakeel Saab is the first big film to hit the screens after the outbreak of Coronavirus pandemic, the producers have high expectations from the film and are eager to get good collections in the first few days, in the wake of reports of growing number of Covid-19 cases.

Moreover, sceptics say the Jagan government in Andhra Pradesh is unlikely to give permission for additional screening of Vakeel Saab, as rising cases of covid in Andhra Pradesh.
