US Visa fees crucial for Indians predominantly seeking H-1B, L-1, and EB-5 visas, are set to skyrocket after about eight years.
This impending increase which is effective from April 1 is staggering, nearly tripling the current fees.
H-1B visa application fees for instance, will surge from $460 to $780, impacting Indian applicants significantly.
The L-1 visa fee will also triple by climbing from $460 to $1385, affecting employees transferred within multinational companies.
Similarly, EB-5 visa fees are expected to triple, rising from $3675 to $11160.
These hikes, following adjustments made by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), could reshape immigration policies and international relations, especially ahead of the presidential elections.
The fee revisions were signaled earlier by the Department of Homeland Security by suggesting changes in visa service along with the fee adjustments.
This move could significantly impact technology companies that rely on H-1B visas to recruit foreign talent notably from India and China.
