Sridevi may get TDP ticket, but not Tadikonda

The suspended YSR Congress party legislator from the Tadikonda (SC) assembly constituency, Undavalli Sridevi, is all set to join the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) headed by former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu in a day or two.

She met Naidu along with her family members on Wednesday. In all probability, she might formally join the TDP on December 15.

Apparently, Naidu had promised her the party ticket to contest the next assembly elections. However, she might be shifted from Tadikonda to some other constituency, as the TDP chief has already promised to field Tenali Sravan Kumar from this seat.

In all probability, Sridevi might be given the party ticket from Tiruvuru, which is also a prestigious constituency for the TDP and has a large number of Dalit votes. Readmore!

However, she is still lobbying for the Tadikonda seat, which falls under the Amaravati capital city region, now solidly behind the TDP. She made elaborate arrangements for Yuva Galam padayatra of Nara Lokesh in the constituency.

But the TDP chief has suggested that she should move to Tiruvuru or any other suitable constituency. He is learned to have completed the exercise of selecting candidates in more than half of the constituencies and is working on the list for other constituencies.

“Once there is clarity on the seat sharing with the Jana Sena Party headed by power star Pawan Kalyan, the TDP chief might announce the list of candidates,” party sources said.
