All people are born equal, but all people do not work equally. It is never a fair world and will never be in the future. It is the same with IT professionals. Java and .Net developers do the most challenging work compared to other fields.
For example, SAP functional consultants earn double or triple the average IT professional wage by clicking a few plug and play buttons on SAP applications to make configuration changes. Scrum masters and project managers finish their day by doing two hours of productive work and six hours of minimally productive zoom meetings. Java and .Net developers must constantly upgrade and learn new technologies every few years or risk the chance of being laid off.
Implementation partners do not have employees’ best interests at heart. They are still modeled under the British colonial type of leadership style where top management including project managers, directors and client partners get most of the salary and bonuses while .net and java developers who do most of the work get peanut sized wages.
Most Java and .Net developers want their employer to apply for H-1b visa and earn fair wages for the work performed by them. Sadly, implementation partners exploit them during the H-1B process also.
First of all, implementation partners postpone the H-1b process for employees by saying that a lot of seniors are waiting before their turn in the queue for H-1b sponsorship. There are eight times the number of applicants compared to the number slots in the H-1B quota every year.
There is no guarantee that h-1b employee will be selected the first time he or she participated in the H-1b lottery. The h-1b employee who is not selected in the h-1b lottery may not be sponsored the second time by the implementation partners claiming that the end client no longer has the need for an on-site employee. Hence, The H-1b process is delayed more if one only chooses to be sponsored by their H-1B employer.
Even if an H-1B employee is sponsored by an implementation partner, the H-1B employee gets selected in the lottery and finally moves to USA, the implementation partner pays low wages, deliberately delays the filing the green card till fifth year of the H-1B. There is a good chance that the green card process would not be completed before the final sixth year of H-1B and the H-1B employee needs to depart from USA.
