Senior YSR Congress party leader and former deputy chief minister of Andhra Pradesh K Narayana Swamy on Monday made a sensational comment saying chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu can get rid of the opposition leaders by shooting them dead, if he doesn’t want them to oppose him.
Speaking to reporters in Chittoor, Narayana Swamy said it was not justified on the part of the TDP to target and harass the people who had not vote for it in the last elections but voted for the YSRCP.
“If I make a mistake, you can arrest me and send me to jail. If you still have any grudge against the YSRCP leaders, you can shoot down all those who had contested on YSRCP ticket in the assembly and Lok Sabha elections. Then, you will have nobody to question. You can rule the state and the Centre as you like,” the former deputy chief minister said.
Narayana Swamy said in a democratic country like India, anybody can contest elections and people can vote for anybody.
“But for the TDP, voting for YSRCP appears to be a crime. That is why the TDP leaders are creating havoc in the villages,” he said.
He accused both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and chief minster N Chandrababu Naidu of manipulating the recent elections to come to power.
“Several people are questioning why Jagan Mohan Reddy had lost the elections despite doing so much good for the people,” he pointed out.
The YSRCP leader said the entire country was expressing doubts over the conduct of the elections and how the NDA had won both in the state and the centre.
“Very soon, all the details will come out in the open,” he asserted.
