Sharmila, an arrow left from KCR's bow: Revanth Reddy

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee working president and Malkajgiri MP A Revanth Reddy has reacted sharply to the proposed new political party in the state by Y S Sharmila, daughter of late chief minister Y S Rajasekhar Reddy.

In a statement, Revanth said Sharmila was none other than a plant of Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to split the anti-establishment vote.

“She is an arrow left from the bow of KCR to target the opposition,” he commented.

Revanth said it was true that late YSR had a lot of supporters in Telangana even now, but they were all with the Congress party. Readmore!

“YSR became the chief minister in the Congress party. Whatever schemes he had implemented were only in the capacity of the Congress leader. He was a people’s leader, but that doesn’t mean they will accept his daughter also,” he said.

The PCC working president said Telangana state was formed only for the locals to rule it, but not for Rajanna’s daughter.

“People respect Sharmila as Rajanna’s daughter and offer her new clothes. But they won’t own up her party,” he said.

He said if Sharmila had any issues with her brother, she should go to Andhra Pradesh to settle scores.

He alleged that KCR, who had realised that he would be losing in then next elections, was trying to fire at the Congress party using Sharmila.

Revanth demanded that Sharmila should disclose her stand on projects like Pulichintala, Pothireddypadu and Sangameshwaram.

She should file a case in the Supreme Court against Pothireddypadu and Sangameshwaram projects being constructed by her brother, he said.

He also wanted Sharmila to apologise to the people of Telangana for opposing the separate state and pitching for combined Andhra Pradesh.

“It is time the YSR fans in Telangana to take a clear stand. We shall now allow the people from neighbouring state to come to Telangana and contest the elections,” he said.
