Section 30 Of Police Act Is Known, In Force Too!

TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu, who served as chief minister for over 14 years questions the GO RT 1 issued by the Andhra Pradesh government imposing restrictions on public meetings and gatherings.

It is understandable if other leaders say anything against this GO and call it a black GO, but it is not acceptable for a leader who worked as chief minister for more than a decade to speak anything against the GO.

The GO was issued based on Section 30 of the Police Act 1861. There are several other Acts, which are being followed in the country and were made during the British rule.

Section 30 of the Police Act is known to every politician as prohibitory orders are issued in the towns and cities every month.  Readmore!

These orders require any political party or the group of seek police permission to hold rallies or meetings.

The GO also says the same that political parties or others to seek permission in advance to hold meetings and rallies.

One wonders how Chandrababu Naidu was criticising the GO when it was implemented all through during his tenure as chief minister.

When Chandrababu Naidu started land pooling in Amaravati in 2016, he imposed Section 30 in all those villages all through his term till May 2019.

He did not allow the Left Parties leaders to tour Amaravati villages during his tenure as the chief minister.

So what is surprising is how is Chandrababu Naidu speaking against a GO that is based on Section 30 of the Police Act, which was dear to Naidu as chief minister!
