Sankranthiki Can Be Made Into a Franchise: Director

Director Anil Ravipudi, who has consistently delivered commercial hits and earned the title of Blockbuster Machine, is now coming up with Sankranthiki Vasthunnam, marking his third collaboration with Venkatesh.

Anil Ravipudi shared that the title was decided during the story development phase.

“When we first started the story, we thought it would be a festival film. The story involves a rescue operation, and in the second half, a four-day journey leads up to Sankranthi. That’s when we decided to finalize the title Sankranthiki Vasthunnam."

The director mentioned that it was Venkatesh who showed interest in singing the song Blockbuster Pongal. Readmore!

“Venkatesh loved the song and expressed his interest in singing it himself. At that moment, we even shot a reel. In just 20 minutes, Venkatesh recorded the song. Even Bheems was shocked after hearing it.”

The dialogue “Flashback Lu Cheppoddu” became quite popular. Anil explained, “Everyone has a past, whether they express it or not. Even something as simple as a first crush is part of the past. If you talk openly about it after marriage, it can have side effects. That’s why it’s better to stay in the present and not dwell on the past.”

Anil Ravipudi also mentioned that while he has plans for F4, it won’t happen immediately.

“There is also potential to turn Sankranthiki Vasthunnam into a franchise."

The director added that he works like a fanboy with every hero, aiming to build a great rapport with them.
