"Save Nallamala" agitation against uranium mining in Nallamalla forests has been going for the past two-three years.
Tribals, who are dependent on forests for their livelihood for generations and environmentalists and nature lovers who want to protect forests and biodiversity have been protesting against uranium mining for long.
When central government proposed uranium mining in Nallamala forest, the TRS government headed by KCR gave its approval in 2017 itself.
The TRS leaders now enacting a drama saying that they too will join Save Nallamala agitation.
IT minister KT Rama Rao who remains active on social media and tweets on every issue under the sun through his Twitter platform has been maintaining complete silence on Nallamala uranium issue since 2017.
Suddenly, KTR waked up from his deep slumber. Actress Samantha Akkineni should be thanked for this.
Despite several film personalities like Vijay Devarakonda, Anasuya, Tanikella Bharani, Shekhar Kammula etc expressed their support for Save Nallamala for the past one-two weeks, KTR remained silent.
But KTR responded on a war footing after Samantha tweeted Save Nallamala.
Within hours of Samanth's tweet on Friday, KTR retweeted saying that he will take up this issue with CM KCR and see that Nallamala uranium mining is stopped.
But KTR should realise that it's his father KCR who permitted uranium mining in Nallamala. If he is really sincere, he should ensure that KCR cancels the permission and fight against Centre.
