Sai Reddy to take up padayatra for steel plant!

With the movement against proposed privatisation of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP) is gradually gaining momentum and the opposition parties are making every effort to gain political mileage out of this unrest, the YSR Congress party, too, has realised that it cannot remain a silent spectator.

YSRC general secretary and parliamentary party leader V Vijay Sai Reddy has announced that he would take out a padayatra in the city in protest against the alleged privatisation of the steel plant.

He said he would take out a padayatra from Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation office to the steel plant gate at Kurnmanna Palem, for a total distance of 22 km, to highlight the issues of steel plant workers.

The YSRC has obviously decided to take the VSP issue very seriously and bring pressure on the Centre to stop the privatisation issue, since it might snowball into a major issue and might bring troubles to the ruling party. Readmore!

Especially since the YSR Congress party president and chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is keen on shifting the executive capital from Amaravati to Visahapatnam at the earliest, any agitation of this magnitude will make all his plans topsy turvy.

So, the party wants to get the issue resolved at the earliest. The proposed padayatra of Sai Reddy is part of this strategy to restore normalcy in the new capital region.
