YSR Congress party general secretary and Rajya Sabha member V Vijay Sai Reddy, along with senior actor and Telugu Desam Party legislator Nandamuri Balakrishna would handle the “pedda karma” (rituals associated with death) of actor Nandamuri Taraka Ratna, who passed away recently.
The ceremony will be held at 12 noon on March 2 at Film Nagar Cultural Centre, Hyderabad in the presence of all family members, friends and well-wishers of Taraka Ratna.
Interestingly, the invitation card for the ceremony prepared by the family members has the names of Sai Reddy and Balakrishna, as the well-wishers of Taraka Ratna and his family, indicating that the entire programme would be taken care of by these two.
Needless to say Sai Reddy and Balakrishna would meet at the ceremony, setting aside their political differences. TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu, who also happens to the uncle of Taraka Ratna, would be present there; and might have a meeting with Sai Reddy as well.
The way Sai Reddy and the TDP leaders moved closely during Taraka Ratna’s hospitalisation and subsequent funeral received a lot of appreciation from all quarters. After the event, Sai Reddy has become a little quiet and stopped making critical comments against the TDP.
Both Sai Reddy and Balakrishna have announced that they would take care of the family of the deceased actor, who is closely related to both the leaders.
