RSP begins campaign on Day One of retirement!

Senior IPS officer of Telangana Dr R S Praveen Kumar, who quit the government service six years in advance, made his political intentions clear on the very first day of his retirement on Tuesday.

Within a day of his request to chief secretary Somesh Kumar seeking voluntary retirement, the Telangana government accepted it and relieved Praveen Kumar from service immediately.

Senior IAS officer Ronald Rose, who is presently special secretary in the finance department, has been given additional charge as secretary, Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TSWREIS), a post which was held by Praveen Kumar for nine long years.

Soon after being relieved, Praveen Kumar left for Kamareddy where he addressed a huge rally of his followers, who invited him to take up the movement for the uplift of Dalit communities and fight for their political power. Readmore!

He told reporters in the morning that he would begin his campaign from Adilabad and cover the entire state.

“There is nothing wrong in joining politics, but the entire society cannot be changed only by political system. We have to bring change in the people’s mindset,” he said.

Stating that he has not yet taken any decision on how to go about in future, Praveen Kumar said he would disclose his plan of action soon. But within hours, he made his intentions clear by addressing the Dalit groups.

Sources said he is toying with the idea of floating a new regional party with an objective of political empowerment of Dalits. Alternatively, he might take over the Telangana unit of Bahujan Samaj Party.
