Revanth yet to come out of TDP hangover!

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president and Malkajgiri MP A Revanth Reddy is leaving for the United States of America on Thursday evening for a week-long tour.

According to Gandhi Bhavan sources, Revanth would be attending the annual conference of Telugu Association of North America (TANA) to be held at Pennsylvania Convention Centre, Philadelphia from Friday to Sunday.

“He would chill out for a few more days and return to Hyderabad on July 15,” the Gandhi Bhavan sources said.

So far so good. But a section of the Congress party leaders are wondering why Revanth Reddy has chosen to attend TANA conference, which is considered to be essentially a congregation of Kamma celebrities and leaders.  Readmore!

Most of the political leaders who would be attending the conference are from Telugu Desam Party and Bharatiya Janata Party.

So, Revanth Reddy’s participation in TANA conference is a little surprising, because most of those from Reddy community attend North America Telugu Association (NATA), which was held earlier this week.

Sources said Revanth still maintains good relations with the TDP leaders and the Kamma community, though he had been out of their party and joined the Congress nearly five years ago.

“He is yet to come out of that TDP hangover. Perhaps that is the reason why he is attending the TANA meeting,” a Congress leader said.

Perhaps, Revanth is also on a mission to mobilise funds for his election campaign in the coming months. And there is no  better occasion than TANA, sources said.

By the way, the organisers of TANA have also invited a good number of Telugu journalists, especially those covering the TDP and BRS beats. So, it is all the more publicity for Revanth!
