Revanth To Take Out State-Wide Padayatra

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee working president and Malkajgiri MP A Revanth Reddy on Wednesday sought to play down the differences within the party, saying all the leaders were very much united to fight against the Telangana Rashtra Samithi government in the state.

Reacting to the criticism from the seniors that he had not taken permission from the high command for taking out the padayatra, Revanth Reddy said his padayatra was not pre-planned, but a spontaneous decision following suggestion from the leaders on dais at Achampet rally.

“The rally was organised as part of the direction from the high command to protest the draconian laws on agriculture introduced by the Narendra Modi government. I was invited to the meeting and when I was speaking, the leaders on the dais asked me to take out a padayatra and I agreed instantly,” he explained.

He said the padayatra got tremendous response from the people and drawing inspiration from the same, he would take out the padayatra all over Telangana. Readmore!

“I sought the permission from the high command and I will take it up only after getting approval from the high command,” he said.

Congress Legislature Party leader Bhatti Vikramarka, who abstained from Revanth’s rally on Tuesday night, said nobody had opposed the padayatra.

“In fact, we feel the padayatra by Revanth Reddy and Komatireddy would only strengthen the party in the state,” he said.
